Ha! I agree actually, but that makes the voting less clear.
It's on 50/50 at the moment.
It actually jolted me out a story I was really enjoying once. I was completely absorbed and then suddenly I was out of the story and staring at this weird grammatical construct.
Hello, complete stranger here (I found you via fiat_knox's "I see Mundanes" post, which was on Metaquotes; I liked your comments and thought I'd read through a few entries).
I would just like to point out - because I am that sort of person, and because it's vaguely ironic - that you have misspelt "grammatically" in the above poll. (For the record, I think that "I'd've" is perfectly good grammar.)
I hope you have a lovely life and raise lots of money with your dashing (well, '80s-cricketer version of dashing, at least) moustache!
Gah! My writing's been atrocious in the past few months. I've not made the time to do anything but fly-by updating. I really must make the effort to write updates longer than 200 words.
My spelling's always been atrocious, but has got a bit better since I started posting to LJ. Practice does make perfect. Who'd have thunk it. I've always been okay at grammar on an instinctive level. I'm fairly sure I never heard a definition of a pronoun whilst at school.
I do feel that my life is lovely at the moment (part of the reason why I don't have time to blog). Thank you! I hope your life is full of fun and enjoyment.
And the 'tache has raised a staggering £150 so far! I really am shocked.

If I read it in a story I'd be too busy being relieved they hadn't written "I'd of", which is abhorrently prevalent, that I wouldn't mind it at all!
