For various reasons I'm having a bit of a spring clean.
If I give up on the idea of being able to wheel my computer chair out of my room (since I can't currently anyway, due to piles of books), then I've got space for a couple of meters of bookshelves. I have to go to Ikea this week anyway, so which ones?
Ultra-cheap.
The Kilby is taller and wider than the Flärke, but slightly more expensive and can't take as much weight. Both have the same number of shelves, and you can't buy more.
In the face of the fact that I don't know how long I'll live here for, easily dismantlable furniture is good. Plus to maximise flexibility of shelf numbers and spacing I could get a pole based one.
Gorm seems to be the cheap version of Ivar. 20% cheaper. But looks like it's held together with screws, and not designed to be re-configured. Woah, Just noticed the depth. I think 50cm is a bit deep for primarily a book shelf, even with double stacking.
Plus I've put together a 50% new Ivar for a friend before, so now it's easy. They found the polls along with some damaged shelves by a bin, and just bought new shelves. So I know it's durable.
However, the cost's now gone from about £25 to about £60.
I guess I could just get 1 meters worth for now, and go back if I want more. Hmm. I'll have another go with a tape measure when I get home.
What I did at the Weekend and Reading list update still still to come.
