The main reason for the poll was to see who people associate with being able to reach me easily.
Here's a scenario though (just come up with it now, not before poll was written). The only forms communication that exist that you know I've received is face to face, or phone. If you've annoyed me, and I'm refusing to take calls and avoiding you, then I may very well be deleting emails and letters unread, in which case, you'd need to find a third party to make sure I'd actually got it.
To paraphrase Naked Gun part something: "Didn't you get my letters?" "I burned them all unopened." "So you never got you inheritance check from your great uncle?"
