Tidy or Messy?

Just wondering if there's generally a correlation.

I tend to keep my computer files tidier, as I have more storage space. I can always add another directory, but adding another bit of storage to your house is more complicated.

I can't answer... there is no appropriate wording for what happens which is that everything mounts up bit by bit and I bitz it every so often. Also, I think definitions of what constitutes tidy differ greatly.

My computer is a mess, mostly. Every so often I shove a pile of stuff off the desktop into a directory called "to sort" and never get round to sorting it.

Paperwork I tend to tackle every 3 - 6 months, throwing out old irrelevant stuff and loosely filing the rest.

The house I try to keep tidy as possible, but if I'm busy the mess mounts up. I'm less bothered about my room than "communal" areas (although there's usually nobody to commune with I'd like it tidy in case someone DOES drop by). But at the moment I have to keep it as tidy as possible as agents randomly bring people to look at it. It wasn't in the best state for viewers yesterday, but was reasonable. I get around the "adding extra storage" problem by having lots of space to put stuff in and being relatively ruthless in discarding stuff I don't need. I could do better but I do tend to like stuff and keep hold of stuff that could come in handy sometime.

I think the important thing here is whether you think things are generally tidy or not. It's your own views that count. Some people who complain that their houses are a mess, are neat freaks by others standards.

My internal definitions appear to be loosly around if I think someone else could find something specific.

Computer MUST be tidy, but blow the rest of it! :) I really can't stand having huge numbers of icons scattered across my desktop, or illogically-filed directories.

Mess Mess Mess Mess Messss.

I keep other peoples places tidy very effectively however. I just don't have enough storage space so it sort of ends up everywhere. My paperwork is kept in the well under my desk and held in by my chair.
