The builders downstairs have torn the bloodly thing in half, got paint on it, and used the bloody envelope to make a "Wet Paint" sign.

After it had been delivered by the postie though. It was still in the shared hallway.

The neighbours offered to pay for a replacement (after I confronted them) but the website says they have copies of every other issue, except this one.

I hope you can get a replacement through the comics network - It's been a few years since I went for periodical comics, and I think the frustration of missing a issue was part of the reason why.

One the one hand punishing a set of brickies for a moment's thoughtlessness might be excessive, and will probably result in you getting dog poo through your same letterbox. On the other hand my inner Captain Mainwaring is shouting that it's the thin end of the wedge and if you don't stop the tradesmen interfering with your mail, they'll take to borrowing your car w/out permission when they go for their 8-pint liquid lunch.

Problem is I never see the builders. They seem to work at some point between 8:30am and 7pm when I'm not in.

I inferred their existence from the piles of torn up laminate flooring in plastic bags by the bin liners. And the wet paint sign.

That sounds like a good idea.

I just don't get it. I can understand stealing an envelope to make a sign as the sign is needed, although it's still out of order. But I just don't get why you'd destroy the contents, that's entirely unnecessary. And weird.

I thought at first that they must have just dragged some equipment in and torn it accidentally.

But I've just realised that the envelope has been torn open to make an A3 sheet. They pretty much must have torn it on purpose.

Oh, and I have dropped the DFC an email asking nicely if they had any I could buy as the builders tore mine. Thanks for the suggestion.
