Amigurumi Octopus

Apologies for image quality, I was wrapping it up, and realised I'd not taken a photo of it yet.
Based on the Lionbrand Amigurumi Octopus. Except I seemed to forget how to crochet when I did the left hand tentacles, So they're all different sizes. And the right hand ones are attempts to copy them.
Oh, and the front two are knitted i-cord, from when I wanted a change from crotchet.
It was a birthday present for Vixie
I was going for chirpy, but I think he looks malevontly smug. Like he's just fooled a mollusc into falling for his evil plans!

Date: 2008-11-07 03:42 pm (UTC)I really am planning to though. I have a pretty good idea of the pattern in my head, I just need to spend about 10 minutes
writhingwriting it down before I start.Essentially:
Slow increase (to give a more cone shape to top of head).
Fixed size for a little bit for head
Fast decrease (hemispherical shape) to form chin, with double crochets on front half of each round so head lies backwards.
Fast increase to make body. About 1.5 times head size.
Faster decrease (flat bottom).
Pick up stitches from chin, and chain some tenticals in. Possible double back on some to make them curly.
