One of the re-occurring points in the Bourne trilogy is that of disguises[1].

He frequently evades people who are watching out for him by changing the number of people in his party, changing clothes, and gait, and vehicles.

Something mentioned early on is that he's not got a very distinctive face. He's not got any features that particularly jump out at you. Just by changing his appearance slightly, he can change the way that he would appear in people's memories (and thus photofits) quite a lot.

Someone made that comparison to me at the weekend. saying I had a fairly neutral face, which can be changed quite easily.

This isn't helped by the fact that I've never found my "look" as far as hair is concerned. I grew about a foot long pony tail, and then cut off 3 times in my university days.

In the last few months: my hair's gone from fairly short and spiky, to a couple of inches long and with a left hand parting. I've grown a pair of sideburns. The glasses that I only occasionally where have gone from rounded wire frames, to chunky rectangles.

I think you have fairly distinctive eyes and eyebrows that would give you away through a disguise.

I don't have face blindness as such but I struggle a lot with actresses and it takes me a while to distinguish one from another. I think "pretty" is something casting directors look for and "pretty" just looks all the same to me. Usually I don't have the same issue with male faces for some reason, however I was endlessly confused when I started watching Veronica Mars as all the guys looked the same to me.

Real people are a lot more easy to distinguish, I think.

Hmm. Interesting point. Eyes are tricky things. Bloody difficult to draw well. I once shrunk a photo of eyes to 12x80 pixels, black and white, and it was still clear who it was.

Names just slip out my head. Facebook's been a life saver. I can go and look at an album and see the names of all the people I'd spent hours talking to.

I don't normally do face blindness, but it took me about two days after seeing it to realise that it wasn't Kirsten Dunst reprising her role as not-the-hero's-girl in the Dark Knight.

Hmm, not sure whether this is more face blindness but it was Katie Holmes who didn't reprise the role.

I realised that. I really did think the female in Batman Returns was Kirsten Dunst playing exactly the same character as in the Spiderman movies.
