1) Used a loud speaker to separate icing sugar from caster sugar.
2) Worked in a Blacksmith's forge.
3) Been in the commentary booth during an England cricket match.

#1: GCSE science project that got out of hand.
I'd decided to study what effects the critical angle of sand piles*. One factor was the size of grains. However commercial granulated sugar wasn't uniform enough for me, so I got distracted and started mucking about with a loud speaker, an frequency generator, and a strobe.

Bizarrely my final year project was a follow up from the previous student's work in sandpiles.

#2. He had the last working forge in Hampshire apparently. And spent most of his time making railings for the council :( Glad to here someone's still doing it.

Possibly. It was the first cricket match I'd been to, and my Uncle new a few of the opposition, so snuck us in. If I'd know about TMS back then, I'd have baked a cake for sure!
