Belated Weekend Post

I had a really top notch weekend. I normally don't do diary type entries, but I thought I'd give it a go. Plus I reckon there's a chance I'll look back on this in the future and smile. There doesn't seem to be anything private in it, so I'm not going to lock it.
Friday:
On Thursday, I noticed I wasn't doing anything on Friday, so I tried to invite myself over to play on a mates Wii. Instead Floo bought it over to mine and, since iBon had switched his football games to Thursday, there was enough of us for a decent game of 100 blank white cards. I hadn't played it for ages, but dug it out last Friday.
It's such a chaotic creative game. I think I might have to start winnowing the deck though. With the number of silly rules there are now in my deck, very few people can be bothered to count up scores at the end. I might start scanning some of the better one to add to the 1000 blank white cards flickr pool.
Saturday:
Got woken up really early by delivery of a Cross Trainer. While moving the console controllers out of the way to assemble it, I remembered that the Playstation2 can play DVD-RWs, which our DVD player can't. So I finally got to watch the documentary following Dave Gorman cross America, Unchained, which Dad had recorded for me ages ago. I think the book was better, film adaptation's never quite work ;)
Attempting to put the Cross Trainer together I failed at the first step. Literally. The front foot was nowhere to be seen. I called Argos, and was told they could deliver a new unit on Wednesday, so I'd need to try and work from home that day. And whilst putting everything back in the packaging, I found the foot. Doh!
After trying it out for a bit I still had some time spare so decided I was well overdue for a haircut. There are a few hairdressers near where I live, but they all have their disadvantages. In fact I think I'm going to have to turn this one into a separate post. Suffice it to say I went to the pricey one, and have still have scrape marks from the cut-throat razor.
Then quickly knocked up a costume for Jixie's farewell party. They're going to Eurovision (and spending a few months travelling Europe), so naturally the theme was an odd piratey anime! Given most of the people in the room hadn't seen much of the show (I had seen precisely one picture of my character), there were some great costumes! Drank vast amounts. Had an amazing time. Crawled home at 5am on a night bus.
Sunday:
Woke up at noon. Tried to make food, but failed and crawled back to bed with water and coffee, and a big hangover.
Dragged myself into town in time to see Iron Man with Floo and iBon. A brilliant film. Gorgeous action sequences, silly comedy asides, nerdgasm inducing moments of comic book geekyness. The physics pedant in me loved that when falling, he had to correct his spin with his repulsors before firing up his rockets.
At that point we headed off to Hyde Park, to meet iBon's sister. Where I started doing Cartwheels. I taught myself during my Salad Days at Uni. Between the end of first year exams and going home to start a summer job; when all was frizbee, barbecues and water pistols. I learned to do them in both directions, so was a bit shocked to find I cant do them anticlockwise anymore. In the middle of trying *Riiippp* the crotch of my trousers split half way down to my knee. Nearly put me off climbing trees on the way out of the park. Nearly.
Finished off the day watching Saturday's Dr. Who. A bit of a silly episode, best enjoyed with company. And since I'd dragged everyone back from the park, we did.
