I had fascinating discussion with someone on the nature of trading at
fjm's once. The main point being a trade is supposed to be mutually beneficial to both parties. Accomplishing / providing something that neither party can have on their own. So I was amused to see this justification for brining cheap wine to a party.
You feel happy, because you've saved money.
The other guests feel happy, because they get to feel superior to you.
It's win-win! (until you don't get invited back)
