"Each August since 1998, Beloit College has released the Beloit College Mindset List. It provides a look at the cultural touchstones that shape the lives of students entering college."

It's a slightly irreverent list of items, that the yoof of today take for granted. Which would have surprised their tutors when they were at College.

I'm not the first person to link to this today, but this is the one that got me:

Of course it's highly culturally biased and assumes that people born in 1991 have no experience (via media or just looking around) of things that predate 1991.

And it's very US centric.

CDs in cardboard sleeves for example are still available now, at least in the UK, and in some cases are sold in preference to CDs in landfill-plastic. I have bought at least three in the last year or so, mostly from the artists themselves at gigs.
