On the Twitter import debate. With appologies to Frank Herbert.

I must not Twitter.
Twitter is the time-killer.
Twitter is the little-sink that brings total procrastination.
I will glance at your tweet.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when the tweet is gone I will scroll and face other posts, and only time will remain.

And when it has gone past I will scroll the browser to see other posts.
Where the tweet has gone there will be nothing.
Only time will remain.

{edit: O always preferred the movie version of the litany.}

In Doon, the Harvard Lampoon's parody, I believe the Litany goes something like "I must not have fun - fun is the time-killer, the little death that destroys productivity..."

I've not read it, but I read Bored of the Rings (also by the Harvard Lampoon - parodies of The Hobbit and The Silmarillion were written more recently by a different author) some years ago. Overall, it wasn't that funny, but there were occasional amusing bits. I'm assuming that Doon will be similar. The only other thing I remember is that the CHOAM corporation becomes NOAMCHOMSKI.

I've defriended anyone who is using their lj only for Twitter imports. If I wanted to read them, I'd join Twitter.

Well, ok. I've only defriended one friend. She used to write such good posts...
