It looks like lewis (the capatcha busting Japanese random text/chat log surrealist spammer) is back again.

I've seen two of my f-list comment that they've been hit with Japanese text for the first time. I'm worried that it selects new people via f-lists, and has chosen mine. Although they're both TAFF nominees, so maybe it's political ;).

Posting frequency is way downfrom it's hight, but I still get a few a month. Usually in a cluster.

Any Lewis victims ever stop getting posts, without f-locking everything, or disabling anonymous comments?

This is the second time you have said "he's back" when I've failed to notice his absence. Every time I post an open comment I get some of that spam. Nobody sees it because I disabled anonymous comments.

My perception is that I get them about once a month. I don't usually post about it, but do when it seems to correspond to others getting it for the first time.

I know different people got it in different volumes too. On person was getting 5 or ten a dat for every post on their front page.

Some of us do all that and still don't get shot of him/her/it because they chase us to Flickr and Last.fm and harass us there.

Same here - any unlocked posts get spammed by this irritant. I didn't know one could disable anonymous comments tho - been locking everything just to avoid it.

For what it's worth, as you seem particularly interested... I continue to get the spam on every open post I make but the volume seems to have increased massively. They arrive in two or three batches. The "how did the party go" now has 14 attached to it, mostly in Japanese script, with only the odd few legible words.

I wish I could get access to the LJ comment database, to try and figure out some of the stats behind this bot, and find a way to block it.
