It's a good suggestion, and was literally the last thing I tried. I turned it off an on again (normally, and by pulling the battery). Confirmed the message center number with them. Even switched the phone from duel mode to pure GSM mode. I tried the SIM card in a colleagues phone, and it still didn't work. I personally think it's something they did on their end. I called up at the weekend to complain I couldn't access https facebook.com and all this has happened since the engineers started back at work on Tuesday (that and the disappearing voicemail indicates a non-local problem).
