Tee hee. This is so sweet. I think even fans aren't defunct enough to requite an ACTUAL HAND POSTED LETTER!! Re rest ; yes it is IMHO polite to let them have right of first publication. However if they don't actually publish again in the next three years.. you may want to rethink that one!
