Ask meme, and II'll tell youyou
Comment to this post and I will:
1. Tell you why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
7. Then you do it! [
offensive_mango sez: you don't have to, really, but you might want to]
and reading some of the responses on her thread, I thought I'd pass this meme on, even if I've only met most of my LJ flist once or twice.
And a random thought on the law of unintended consequence.
Why are my glasses so smudged?
I only wear them when my eyes are tired, and that's when I tend to rub my eyes.
Just realised that after poking them for the second time today

Well iirc, I found your photoblog on the work intranet when I was looking at one of the many pages you'd written, and clicked back to your profile. I normally try and keep this blog as seperate as possible from work, but you're a nice bloke so I let you know I had one too, and there we are.

Macro photography. I love the depth of field in that sort of shot, and your're the only person I've ever known in real life, whose macro shots I've seen.

Knowledge sharing. It sounds sad, and too work related, but I mean it as a complement. You have a way of explaining things in speech and text that just makes them stick. It makes you great to chat with.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
Hmm, that's harder than I thought it would be.
I was never on a project with you.
Don't recall anything outrageous happening at a binge.
I suppose I remember you disappearing, and it turning out you were on Mount Everest.
And that Bike lock box you couldn't get into for months (How did you finaly get that open).
And your occasion guest slot on Angelo Cam.

Where did the idea to go to Nepal come from, and did you know Matthew was on his way when you left?
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
Well I don't have a lot of choice, so I'm using your photoblog instead,
I really like that one.

Chris and I had been talking about doing a big trip like that before we had kids and lost the chance for a while. I was thinking Great Wall or Inca Trail and he came up with Everest. So, yes, when the trip was booked I knew Matthew was a possibility and when we went he was well and truly on the way.
Oh, and I got into the lock box by finally getting Kiran to get a decent key cut for it.
